Isaiah Chapters 24-27 describe a global judgment. This means they apply to the whole world, in the same way that the Noahic flood was a global judgment. The judgments in Isaiah’s time against Israel (destroyed) and Judah (captivity) were local, but the Day of the Lord will be a world-wide judgment (Matthew 24; Mark 13; Revelation 6-19).

The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

Isaiah 24:5

This refers to God’s covenant with Noah. There will be no joy in the harvest during the Day of the Lord.

And it shall come to pass, [that] he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.

Isaiah 24:18

The windows of Heaven may open to pour out blessings or to rain down destruction. There are times in Scripture when God seems to relish last-second victories. He returns just in the nick of time to save His people. Isaiah 25 promises that the Lord will preserve His chosen people. The feast happens after the destruction in the Day of the Lord, when the funeral will turn into a wedding feast.

And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

Isaiah 25:6

For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.

Isaiah 25:10

Israel’s enemies were condensed into the Moabites, who will wallow in excrement while the Jews are feasting.

Isaiah Chapter 26 contains the promise not only of peace, but also righteousness. Remember, unrighteousness may seem prospersous now, but God will ultimately favor righteousness.

In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.

Psalm 72:7

The ultimate fulfillment of this will be when Christ reigns on Earth.

Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

Isaiah 26:4

The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just. Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Lord, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee. With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the Lord. Lord, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.

26:7-11

In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.

Isaiah 27:1
